“2025 Caroline’s Tribe Family vacation – Status”

“Don’t forget to do the survey!”

There are two things we want you to know:

1. The first thing is that the planning group has narrowed down the location for the vacation to either Hampton Beach, Virginia or Charleston, South Carolina. To decide which of the two locations we are going to select we have scheduled “boots on the Ground” visits to each location. 

• Hampton Beach, Virginia – Boots on the Ground visit - June 14 to 16, 2024
• Charleston, South Carolina – Boots on the Ground visit - September 20 to 22

The “boots on the ground” visits are open to any family members who want to Participate. If interested just reach out to any planning member or Glenn Simpson. We are not specifying any particular hotels because we want to get as wide a sampling of the area that we can. We have developed brochures for the boots on the grounds visits to help us get the most out of the visits and to enhance the fun of the experience. We will share the brochures with any family member who lets us know that they want to attend.

2. The second thing is that we have not selected the time of year we will hold the vacation. We want to open this issue up to a family survey. Here are a few issues we have discussed: 

a. Hold the vacation in the summer when children are out of school 

b. Hold the vacation in early spring before the weather gets too hot

c. Hold the vacation in the late fall after the weather cools off

d. We are not sure if family members planning to attend are bringing school age children or not

Maybe some family members can make suggestions or tell us things we have not thought about. Please speak up and help us make this a wonderful vacation.
